A short video giving a rough idea of what goes into completing a digital portrait from a photograph. The whole process however including the use of filters has been omitted as I just wanted to give a basic idea of the work that goes into one of my digital portraits.
First the subject is removed from the background and a filter used to increase detail. Not too much and not too little as I just want to give the effect of a hand drawn portrait. Once this has been completed the background is replaced with a colour that matches the subject. In this case I have used a colour tone from the subjects skin. I have also given the effect of a bright light behind the subject to make her stand out from the portrait.
Next the base of the subject is feathered into the background and any sharp jagged edges around the subject are removed and also blended into the background. The final part of the process involves blending the complete portrait into one of which I call cleaning.
The portrait is now ready to print onto canvas and gallery wrap it over stretcher bars. Or you can choose to have your portrait printed onto poster paper. Sizes range from 10" x 7" up to 40" x 30".
No payment is required until completion of your art portrait and you are 100% satisfied with the end result.
